What Can I Expect From My First Session

Your first session will consist of a fitness assessment to determine a baseline of where you are when you begin your fitness program. You will fill out a health history questionnaire so that we are made aware of any conditions that would limit your training or make it unsafe.

The fitness assessment consists of:

Body composition testing; taking body measurements; recording your weight and body fat percentage
Muscular endurance and strength testing
Following the assessment, if time permits, you will do a brief workout.

Where Is Training Conducted

Training is done in our private, personal training studio in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas. The studio is a state of the art facility that has free weights, machines, cardiovascular equipment and an indoor turfed field that covers over 8,400 square feet. We also use fitness ropes, tractor tires, sledgehammers, kettlebells, plyo platforms, etc. We pride ourselves at having many different training methods and tools to use.

The facility is only open to clients working with a personal trainer or former clients of our personal trainers. I feel that training our clients in a private facility truly defines the term “personal training.”

How Long Will It Take For Me To Get In Shape

That depends on several factors. There are a lot of different variables that can speed up or slow down your progress such as genetics, goals, fitness level, and most importantly, how hard you want to work! The more dedicated a client is, the quicker and better the results will be. This means dedication to all aspects of fitness, including weight training, cardiovascular exercise, and perhaps most important… nutrition!

We cover all aspects of fitness in our personal training programs. At the beginning of your program, we set short and long term goals which are attainable as long as clients follow the guidelines and principles we lay out. We have helped people make amazing body transformations in as short as 3 months. For others, it may take 6 months, a year, or maybe longer. Most visual differences are easily noticeable within 60 days although you will probably start to “feel” changes like energy level, wellness, looseness in clothes, etc. much sooner.

What type of clientele do you work with?

We have a wide variety of clients.
Our clientele varies from 10 year old children to 70 year old grandmas and grandpas.
Our clientele varies from doctors and lawyers to housewives and show girls.
We have clients who have never exercised before and we have clients who are athletes looking to excel in their specific sport.
We have clients who are just looking for general fitness and do not want to be pushed too hard.
We also have clients who want to be pushed hard and motivated because they want to get in the best shape possible and make a huge body transformation or to achieve personal bests or do things they were never capable of doing before.
So basically, our clientele is very diverse. We work with people no matter what their goals or fitness level.

How much do you recommend I exercise?

It depends on several factors including a person’s goals, body type, health, level of experience, etc. Recommendations of the two basic exercise types, strength training and cardiovascular training will vary from person to person. A lot of variables in training are highly individualized.

For the majority of our clients, strength training 3 to 4 times a week is optimal.

Our cardiovascular exercise recommendations can vary a lot by the client although we never have clients doing long duration, low intensity, steady state aerobics. We prefer to have our clients do high intensity, short duration, interval training that tends to be more anaerobic. It is much more beneficial for fat loss for a variety of reasons.

What do you do about nutrition?

We offer a basic meal plan for all our clients based on scientific nutritional knowledge and what has worked for our clients in the past. Our plans are approved by our Registered Dietitian Alex Concepcion.

More detailed and individualized eating plans can be obtained from Alex if need be.

Do I need to buy a gym membership?

You do not need to buy a $25.00/ month gym membership unless you plan to use the facility when you are not working with your Bodysport Fitness Center assigned personal trainer.

However, there is a yearly gym use/registration fee of $25.00 due when you start your personal training program.
